Declaration and consent to process personal information in terms of the POPI Act

PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION:
CEFA is committed to protecting and promoting the privacy of Personal Information of learners that take part in CEFA programmes and any other individuals or organisations that CEFA engages with; to give effect to an individual or company’s constitutional right to privacy; and to fulfil its obligations under the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act No 4 of 2013.

By signing this document, you acknowledge that you have read all of the privacy terms and conditions disclaimer wherein you understand and agree that all information provided, whether personal or otherwise, may be used and processed by CEFA which might include placing such information in the public domain. By signing this document, you agree that CEFA may use information provided by you, irrespective of the nature of such information. CEFA will take all reasonable precautions to ensure that any information provided, is only used for the purposes it has been provided for and therefore will not be processed for purposes prohibited by POPI Act and/or the principles contained in POPI. Please note that you hereby give your consent to processing of information including the receipt, recording, organising, collation, storage, updating or modification, retrieval, alteration, consultation and use; the dissemination by means of transmission, distribution or making available in any other form, or the merging, linking as well as blocking, degradation, erasure or destruction of information in accordance with this policy; the collection, collation, processing, and storing of such information and the use and disclosure of such information in accordance with this policy.

THE LEARNER’S RIGHTS IN TERMS OF THIS CONSENT:

  • The right to know what information is being kept, how it is being used, and when CEFA will disclose it.
  • The right to correct your details. CEFA only has access to the information given to us by the learner. However, should any of your details change, it is the learner’s responsibility to notify Continuing Education for Africa (CEFA) to ensure that our records are accurate and up to date. Participants in Continuing Education for Africa (CEFA) programmes are requested to ensure that the information provided is complete and accurate as incorrect information may cause delays with programme implementation.
  • The right to revoke consent. You may revoke the consent you have given us in terms of this form at any time. Your revocation should be in writing and addressed to the information officer of CEFA. Revoked consent is not retroactive and will not affect any past or existing use of your information

By agreeing to the terms of this consent form, you expressly consent to the processing of your information for marketing purposes. You understand that by consenting, you may receive marketing materials, relevant to CEFA, in the form of SMS’s, WhatsApps, emails etc. from CEFA.
