Community Development for Masupatsela Youth Pioneers
This year started on a very exiting note for the Masupatsela Youth Pioneers from the Department of Social Development, Limpopo, when they registered for the Level 5 Community Development qualification. The picture was taken on registration day. Facing the camera is one of the CEFA facilitators, Geduld (Dillo) Veldsman. This exciting new community development profession provides learners with the competencies needed to work collectively towards identifying, planning and mobilising resources for social change interventions in communities that care – thereby improving quality of life in a sustainable and integrated manner.
The qualification equips learners with the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to address community development challenges in a holistic and integrative manner. The qualification provides the Masupatsela Youth Pioneers the opportunity to obtain the qualification, as learning occur through occupationally directed workplace training.
The same applies for people who have worked in the community development sector for years as well as those who want to take up a career in the field of community development. This qualification could create an opportunity for further learning and vertical progression to the degree of Bachelor Community Development (NQF Level 8).
