What better time than in Social Development Month to celebrate our first ten years of bringing practical, educational training to the upwardly mobile, socially responsible people who look for it and need it. Continuing Education for Africa (CEFA) started life just ten years ago, in Wellington in the Western Cape – next door to the world renowned centres of educational learning at Stellenbosch and Cape Town. Today, we are proud of our achievements in practical, educational training – and our
reach is far broader.

Led by social welfare professional Dr Karien Lubbe, a small tight knit team of dedicated people started with training Social Auxiliary Workers (SAWs). Over the years some faces may have changed, but the same dedication and leadership are in place. Over these first ten years we have constantly developed and refined our training into providing those critically essential supporters of Social Workers in our communities with practical, theory based work place oriented educational training. We are proud to have had a hand in developing both people and communities.

It is in this continuing drive for excellence and development that we now also provide National Certificate training, at NQF Level 5, in Community Development – a new professional field.

Furthermore, we are bringing you:

“my-eLEARNING” – which provides strong learner support in accessing our current training programmes;
“my-RPL” – which provides a simple six step process to recognition of prior learning, preparatory to joining our Community Development or SAW training programmes; and
a number of credit bearing short courses and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training programmes.

CEFA is proud to celebrate our first ten years as an accredited training provider of choice in the SETA sector – and to pay tribute to the people who have brought value to our achievement of theory grounded practical, workplace oriented educational training. We are proud of our staff, past and present, our Board of Directors – and our leadership. Our training is designed to bring real value learning a whole lot closer. Our first ten years has shown that we can and do help provide a better
life for all – and that we can help you get there!

We invite you all to come celebrate with us our first ten years.
