Most of the learners in this intake are from urban areas while some are from farming communities like Ladybrand in the Free State. Although these learners sometimes experience challenges with resources, they have never allowed it to influence their studies. Despite numerous challenges during cycle 1 they never missed any online meetings and group discussions. This group is quite a shy lot and it has resulted in me having to be creative in getting them to participate in group discussions. Balancing between work, study and home life can be quite overwhelming but these learners are determent to pursue with their SAW careers to make a difference in people’s lives. Our IT facilitator is described by this group as “an excellent teacher and guide… with endless patience to support and assist the learners”
