CEFA currently offers a range of Research Project Themes from which to select for the purpose of your prospective post graduate field/discipline of study. To be considered for conducting research with CEFA, your application, needs to be accompanied by a research proposal which includes a section that relates your interest of study to one of our research themes. Your proposal therefore has to demonstrate that your research topic critically engages with the most recent literature regarding the contextual realities and debates surrounding your choice of theme and research area. It gives me great pleasure to give feedback regarding the recent call for proposals to conduct a process evaluation study of the Social Auxiliary Work training programme in the Eastern Cape. The training was made possible by a generous donation which CEFA received from the D.G. Murray Trust. This donation enables 55 employees from different NGO’s in the Eastern Cape to obtain a Social Auxiliary Work qualification. Read more ... |

The history of the University dates back to 1920, when the foundation stone of the Longmarket Street Building of the then Cape Technical College was laid, in Cape Town. Establishment of the college followed more than ten years of representations by the community for a consolidation of the technical courses which, until then, had been offered at various venues in town. The Department of Social Development, Free State Province, appointed CEFA as Service Provider to train 56 learners and 25 mentors in the Free State Province. The Department sponsors the training as well as the boarding and lodging of the learners when they gather in Bloemfontein for the theoretical training sessions during the different training cycles.
