WHO WE ARE

CEFA is a registered NPO (since 2004) whose purpose is to equip under-employed and unemployed young people with knowledge, skills and values in order to enable them as future employees to promote the development of people and of communities.

RESEARCH PROJECT OFFERINGS
General Aims of this Project
· Help to develop Human Science leaders who can contribute to evidence-based higher education research in training and approaches regarding community development, well-being and/or poverty alleviation and thereby contributing to a better life for all.
· Facilitate research opportunities for prospective post graduate students by providing access to relevant research areas.
· Ensure a rich research learning environment, inclusive of field, interdisciplinary exposure, and human centred approaches.
RESEARCH THEMES
CEFA currently offers a range of Research Project Themes from which to select for the purpose of your prospective post graduate field/discipline of study. To be considered for conducting research with CEFA, your application, needs to be accompanied by a research proposal which includes a section that relates your interest of study to one of our research themes. Your proposal therefore has to demonstrate that your research topic critically engages with the most recent literature regarding the contextual realities and debates surrounding your choice of theme and research area.
1. Community based education and training.
2. Human welfare and development.
3. Socio-economic Community Development (Human & Social Capital).
4. Community Well-being.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
For your application to be considered, you must either:
hold a 480 credit under-graduate degree in a field relevant to the mentioned research themes
or
hold an Honours and/or Masters degree in a relevant field to that of the mentioned research themes
and have
obtained an average pass rate of at least 65% in the above-mentioned qualifications
as well as
a 4-5 page proposal stating your theme of interest & topic, a problem statement, research question & proposed methodology for your anticipated study, and a focused 18-item bibliography of the latest literature which deals with your topic.
Approval of your application rests with the CEO of CEFA.
